Emergency Medicine Physician

The North Bay Regional Health Centre Department of Emergency Medicine is looking for Full-Time, Part-Time, and Locum Emergency Physicians to join its innovative, effective, and collegial team.

With an average of 160 patients per day, the Emergency Department is a fast-paced, invigorating environment. With seven physicians scheduled per day, you become an integral part of a team, while having time to give quality care and complete, proper work-ups for your patients. We are a Regional Stroke Centre, as well as a Level III Trauma Centre with regular high fidelity SIMS, clinical updates via case reviews, and accredited grand rounds. Prospective candidates are welcome to participate in all these events. Emergency Department Physicians are funded through an Alternate Funding Agreement with a rewarding financial structure.

A supportive, team-based approach is a priority for our department. As you integrate into our team, there will always be another physician nearby to support technical or clinical conundrums that may be encountered. Mentorship opportunities are available to those who are new to Ontario emergency departments, as well as a separate mentorship program within our department.

Locum physicians are competitively remunerated, with travel and accommodation expenses provided.

Residents are reimbursed travel and accommodation expenses on locums, electives, or when providing clinical services under the PARO Restricted Registration Program.

North Bay Regional Health Centre offers a Recruitment Incentive Package which includes a competitive signing bonus and relocation funding.

Applicants must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. The organization is an academic teaching centre affiliated with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine University, offering department physicians opportunities for teaching.
